Research proposals
A research proposal describes what you will investigate, why it’s important, and how you will do the research. The format of a research proposal varies between fields, but most proposals should contain at least these elements:
- Cover page
- Introduction
- Literature review
- Research design
- Reference list
There may be some variation in how the sections are named or divided, but the overall goals are always the same. This article takes you through a basic research proposal template and explains what you need to include in each part.
Literature review
A literature review is a piece of academic writing demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the academic literature on a specific topic placed in context. A literature review also includes a critical evaluation of the material
Methodology
Methodology refers to the overarching strategy and rationale of your research project. It involves studying the methods used in your field and the theories or principles behind them, in order to develop an approach that matches your objectives.
Data presentation and data analysis
What comes to your mind when you read or hear the words DATA PRESENTATION AND ANALYSIS?
What comes to your mind may include;

- Demographic analysis
DEFINITION: The data presentation and analysis chapter presents and analyses data collected from a research. Some of the major issues discussed in this section include the response rate, the demographic profile of the respondents and the main research findings which are discussed as per objective. Concept paper / Manuscripts
Concept papers are typically prepared by entrepreneurs working on a business proposal or product, or by students and researchers in academia. Such documents are aimed at securing feedback on a research idea and seeking potential investors or funders. In fact, such a document might even help determine whether a project idea is feasible in the first place.
Statistical Power Analysis (SPSS, MATLAB, STATA)
illustrating the application of different statistical analysis techniques using different statistical packages. Each page provides a handful of examples of when the analysis might be used along with sample data, an example analysis, explanation of the output, a short sample write-up, followed by references for more information. These pages merely introduce the essence of the technique and do not to provide a comprehensive description of how to use it.
